The little blue ferries sail every 5 minutes between Sunset Beach to Granville Island, all day, every day.  Service from all other docks is every 5-15 minutes, depending on the time of day.  Scheduled service is the maximum time a passenger should expect to wait for a ferry; most of the time ferries are running more frequently than scheduled. Tickets may be purchased on our website, or onboard the ferry using credit, debit, or cash.  To redeem an online ticket, simply show your confirmation number to a crew member.  To buy walk up tickets, simply board the ferry and pay the crew while the vessel is under way.

This cruise sails every 15 minutes from 9:45 am – 7:00 pm, every day, rain or shine. We recommend this cruise for families with small children. It’s just the right length to keep the kids interested! Sights include Sunset Beach, the North Shore mountains, the West End skyline, Vanier Park, and Heritage Harbour.

#### forty minute cruise

This cruise sails every 15 minutes from 7:00 am – 8:30 pm, every day, rain or shine. We recommend this cruise for those wanting to relax and take in the city skyline. You’ll be riding along as the ferry makes its appointed rounds to our six docks east of the Granville Bridge. Sights include the Osgemeos mural, the Yaletown skyline, BC Place Stadium, Rogers Arena, the Granville & Cambie Street bridges, the former 2010 Athletes Village, and Science World.

Space is limited on these tours, and we recommend booking tickets in advance. This narrated one-hour harbour tour aboard our intimate, eco-friendly electric boats offers a unique perspective of False Creek. As the boat silently glides along the picturesque waterway, our knowledgeable skipper will provide insightful commentary on both the area’s rich heritage and current form as a bustling urban oasis. Learn about the landmarks that dot the shoreline, including Science World, Granville Island, the Olympic Village, Yaletown, English Bay and Kits Point. Relax in comfort on our small, silent electric boat, designed for sustainability without compromising on luxury. With a maximum of 12 passengers on board, you’ll enjoy an intimate experience with ample opportunity to soak in the breathtaking views and snap photos of the city’s most iconic sights. Whether you’re a visitor seeking an unforgettable glimpse of Vancouver or a local looking to rediscover the beauty of False Creek, our narrated harbour tour promises an unforgettable experience. We strive to maintain the friendly, down-to-earth atmosphere that’s been a part of False Creek Ferries ever since we launched. We’re proud of our ferry system. We’ve spent over 40 years building and improving it, celebrating our 40th anniversary in 2022.
False Creek Ferries is a passenger ferry service in Vancouver, Canada, connecting Granville Island Public Market with nine pickup and drop-off docks along the harbour. Our service operates as a high-frequency people mover, with our distinctive blue-and-white ferries continuously circulating from dock to dock all day, every day.
Our vessels are often described as charming, with most carrying only 12 passengers. Despite their modest size, our fleet of 20 ferryboats works collectively as a highly efficient transportation network. During off-peak periods, ferries operate at regular, scheduled intervals so passengers know when to expect the next arrival. At peak times, service frequency more than doubles, with ferries departing every 2 to 6 minutes. On busy weekends, one of the comments we hear most often is, “I thought I’d have to wait longer, but the line moved very quickly.”
Parking on Granville Island can be challenging, and taking the ferry is often faster than driving to the Public Market. We are fortunate to operate along the scenic False Creek waterway, making the journey part of the experience. Riding one of our blue-and-white ferries is not only a convenient way to get around, but also a memorable sightseeing experience in its own right.
False Creek Ferries is a family-owned company providing public transportation at a human scale. We were the original company to establish ferry service to Granville Island more than 40 years ago. All crew members are Transport Canada certified and represent a diverse range of backgrounds, from college students on summer break to semi-retired professionals with decades of experience. We take pride in building lasting relationships with our passengers, many of whom have been riding with us for years. Our goal is to deliver efficient, reliable service while offering an enjoyable and memorable experience, and to remain an active, contributing member of the community.

## frequently asked questions

### I have a large group that wants to take the ferry. Should I make arrangements ahead of time?
Please contact our office to arrange to move large groups. Our maximum capacity is currently 12 passengers on our vessels. We may need to move your group on several ferries.

### What sight seeing options do you offer?
We offer a 20 minute and a 40 minute cruise departing at least every 15 minutes from our Granville Island dock. We also offer a fully narrated tour on our electric boats.
### Can I bring my dog aboard the ferry?
Yes. Our ferries (and our drivers) are pet friendly. For the comfort of all other passengers, please ensure your dog is clean, dry and leashed! Wet dogs may have to wait until there is plenty of space. Please allow a minimum of 2m between your dog and other passengers.

### Where can I buy tickets for the ferry?
All tickets may be purchased on board the ferry and some tickets can be purchased here on our website. We prefer that everyone pay with a TAP enabled debit / credit card, and we have credit / debit terminals available on board all ferries. We also accept cash on board all ferries. We are not a part of public transit and so do NOT accept the Compass card.

### Do the ferries run all year-round?
Yes, the ferries run all-year round. We operate scheduled service every day except Christmas Day and Boxing Day.

### Do you take bicycles?
Unfortunately not. Our ferries, while perfectly suited for people, are simply too small to safely carry bikes.

### What are the ages for adults, seniors and children?
Adults are 13 – 64, Seniors are 65 and over, Children are 4 – 12. Children 3 & under are free.

### Do you permit strollers on board the ferry?
Yes. Children must be removed from strollers prior to boarding. All strollers must be collapsed prior to being loaded. At the moment our crew are unable to load any of your belongings. Please be prepared to board the ferry when it arrives by removing children and contents. Some large strollers are simply too big to be loaded on the ferry.

### Are the rainbow ferries part of your company?
No. We share several docks along the eastern portion of False Creek with another ferry company. Although they run a comparable service, and operate boats of an identical design to ours, tickets are not interchangeable between companies.

### Are the ferries wheelchair accessible?
Unfortunately, the ferries are only accessible for passengers with collapsible wheelchairs. We can assist you onto the ferry if you can take one or two steps, but the vessels are too small to safely fit passengers that need to remain in their chair.

### Does the ferry crew accept tips?
Tips are not expected, but are sincerely appreciated.
